Item 6. Steve Webb, Manco Recycling re: electronic waste. A carry-over from the August meeting and the provincial iniative, Ontario Electronic Stewardship regarding electronic waste diversion. Manco presented a programme for Howe Island; however, a wait-and-see decision was made as the Township received a ‘pre-announcement’ from the Province that the Province would set-up e-waste centres…no details from the Province
The assessment notices will be mailed on October 17 (now received). Council suggested that MPAC present the adjustments on Howe Island and with this in mind, will contact MPAC
The Mayor stated that trailers are popping up in the Township in violation of the by-law with no inforcement from the Township. Seems that a citizen must contact the Township but people are hesitant to do so. HIRA comment…FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP RUNS THE RISK OF BECOMING A TRAILER PARK WHERE EVERYBODY PLUGS INTO THE AMENITIES BUT NOBODY HAS ANY COMMITMENT TO THE TRAILER PARK
No discussion on the Frontenac-Howe Islander ferry hull inspection even though it had been discussed at the Frontenac County meeting the previous night
No discussion on Lot 5 on Howe Island even thought the Mayor stated at the September meeting, “We must be prepared to do something about it at the October meeting”
