NOTICE OF APPLICATION AND NOTICE OF OPEN HOUSES
Zoning By-law Amendment Z-01-15-WH
ALL LANDS WITHIN THE TOWNSHIP OF FRONTENAC ISLANDS
PUBLIC MEETINGS: The Township of Frontenac Islands is proposing to hold public meetings to continue the update of its Zoning By-law. Phase 1 of the update was completed in November 2014 and made technical corrections to the by-law, updated the mapping, and increased setbacks from waterbodies and wetlands. Open houses are now planned to begin Phase 2 of the review. The purpose of the open houses is to outline the Phase 2 process, receive feedback on the proposed review topics, and to hear suggestions on potential improvements to the by-law. The Township will be holding two open houses to discuss these issues.
Wolfe Island Open House:
June 1, 5:30PM-7:30PM
Community Hall (26 Division Street)
Howe Island Open House:
June 8, 4:00PM-6:00 PM
Township Office (50 Baseline Road)
A formal public meeting will be announced at a later date.
DETAILS: The purpose and effect of the Zoning By-law amendment is to:
a) Ensure the by-law conforms to the Township’s Official Plan and is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement
b) Update definitions, zone categories and development standards according to best practices, local characteristics, and public input
c) Implement recommendations from studies such as the Marysville Community Improvement Plan
The proposed amendment applies to all lands in the Township.
FORMAL NOTICE: If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Frontenac Islands before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Frontenac Islands to the Ontario Municipal Board. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Township of Frontenac Islands before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
