At an executive meeting on January 11th, the directors of HIRA were unanimous in supporting the fundraising for the new Fire Hall which is taking shape beside the Town office on Baseline. A Fund Raising Committee aims to raise $100,000 from the community and sent out a solicitation at the end of September to residents. To date 53 donors have given a total of $ 45,000. Please forgive us if you are one of them. We are aiming to reach HIRA members who haven’t yet contributed, perhaps because they didn’t receive the mailed request or maybe because they need a reminder.
All contributions will be acknowledged in the full amount with an official Tax receipt.
The initial response has been generous. We urge you to give what you can. This is a facility which will stand all Islanders in good stead for years to come. Howe Island Fire and Rescue volunteers will have space for training, upgrading skills and storing and maintaining equipment.
Contributions should be made to; “ Howe Island Fire Hall Project”
And mailed or delivered to;
