The minutes of the February 11th council meeting are now available. Following are some highlights of those minutes.
Undeveloped lot on west side of Howe Island Drive near the County Ferry dock declared surplus land.RESOLUTION # 5 by Pat Norris and Wayne Grant that property owned on Howe Island by the Township of Frontenac Islands and described as Part of Lot 5, North Range, Part 5 on Reference Plan 13R6687 be declared surplus property and the Clerk take the necessary steps to initiate an appraisal of the land. If the land is sold, revenues to be put into Parkland Reserve Fund account for future use. CARRIED.
New firehall can not be used by island residents for meetings
Chief Mike Quinn of the Howe Island Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department made a presentation to Council regarding the use of the new Howe Island Fire & Rescue Building.
RESOLUTION # 4 by Pat Norris and Matt Fiene that Council accept the “Building Usage” Report presented by Chief Quinn of the Howe Island Fire & Rescue Department and adopt the recommendation that the Howe Island Fire and Rescue Building not be open to use by outside organizations. CARRIED.
