Following is the reply that the county sent to all those who wrote to them about the lifting of the rush hour restrictions.
I appreciate your input received over the last few days. This matter has not come to the County’s table since the Township’s meeting on August 13th. The next County Council meeting date is September 19th. Normally Frontenac-Howe Islander ferry issues around fees and fares and any travel restrictions are discussed by County Council in October each year and decisions are made for the following calendar year.
I’ve been in touch with the Township staff and we will continue to compile the related information for Council’s consideration. We’ll keep you advised through a general sharing of information with Islanders.
As an aside, we continue to review and monitor the performance of the ferry and the level of activity. This information will also be presented at council over the next few months.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me,
